Chon Thanh Ward was established according to Resolution No. 1662/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025, based on the merger of three wards: Minh Thành, Thành Tâm, and Hưng Long, with a total area of 124.41 km², a population of 43,789 people, bordering Minh Hưng Ward, Nha Bích Commune, and Ho Chi Minh City. The area includes two large industrial zones, serving as key areas adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, with major national highways and expressways passing through, facilitating trade and socio-economic development of the locality.
Regarding the total staffing: 121 people, including 89 civil servants, 16 public employees, and 32 non-professional officials. By sector: 28 Party members (20 civil servants, 3 public employees, 5 non-professional officials); State sector 70 (40 civil servants, 13 public employees, 17 non-professional officials); the Vietnam Fatherland Front 23 (13 civil servants, 10 non-professional officials).
The Party Committee of the ward was established according to Decision No. 1828-QĐ/TU dated June 24, 2025, by the Bình Phước Provincial Party Committee, establishing Chơn Thành Ward's Party Committee with 45 subordinate Party organizations and 1,054 Party members; including 6 grassroots Party committees, 15 grassroots branches, and 24 neighborhood branches.
